Poppy

This quilt features needle-turn hand applique and beautiful machine quilting. The center poppies were curved pieced before being appliqued to the quilt. All design elements are original to this quilt. The hummingbird in the border brings movement to the quilt. The penny sized circles in the border are all hand appliqued. The fabrics in this quilt are from 3 generations. The backing is a green swirl - the same as the hand finished binding.

Hope

Going to Paducah 2007! This original quilt design was completed in September 2006. Our quilt guild was challenged to complete a quilt that we were struggling with. I spent 2-3 hours a day for at least a month quilting it. I used three different colors of quilting thread in order to accent each area. The binding is hand finished.

Meggan's Quilt

This quilt was made for a dear friend of mine who was expecting her first baby. We have worked together for the past 5 years and I was so excited about the news that I started planning the quilt as soon as she knew it was to be a girl. The colors in her nursery are pink and brown. This was a new color combination for me - what fun, there are so many wonderful fabrics to choose from. The flowers in the quilt center and the border were done with a blanket stich on the machine. The machine quilting was customized for this quilt.
